Sabra Bennett is more progressive than most
women. She’d far rather be horseback riding or playing ragtime
music on the piano than having tea with the ladies or any other
socially accepted activity. Unfortunately she’s married to a
banker who’s more interested in having a beautiful woman on his
arm than he is in being faithful – and that’s what leads to a
life changing incident which will have Sabra fleeing Boston for
the wilds of the Colorado Territory.
Fearful of being captured and returned to
Boston to answer for her actions Sabra finds it impossible to
relax and is constantly looking over her shoulder. She gets
lucky and ends up seated next to a nice young man on his way to live
with his brother in Gumption, Colorado. Over the course of
their journey Rusty learns that Sabra has no definite plans or
destination in mind and makes the offer to bring her along to
Gumption with his family.
Rusty’s generous offer sounds like a dream
to Sabra but nothing prepared her for his brother’s friend
Irishman Noah Tucker’s seductive appeal. If it wasn’t for his
drinking and obvious womanizing ways Sabra might have caved into
her desires for him. She’s not about to be any man’s mistress
and that’s exactly what Noah intends for her to become.
Noah isn’t a conventional man by any
means. He’s determined to raise sheep and that doesn’t sit well
with the cattlemen of the area. He’s drawn to Sabra, not just
because she’s beautiful, but there’s something mysterious about
her. She claims to be a widow of a banker yet she is traveling
alone and is extremely close-mouthed about her life before
Gumption. Noah’s determined to learn Sabra’s secrets but is he
truly prepared to accept her and whatever she wants to keep
hidden?
Noah fully intends to capture Sabra’s
heart but he has competition from a cattleman who believes he
has the right to anything or anybody he desires.
Noah’s determined to learn Sabra’s secrets
but is he truly prepared to accept her and whatever she wants to
keep hidden? What about the cattleman’s obsession with Sabra?
Is there any hope for a happily-ever-after or will the past and
present clash and rip apart everything Sabra’s tried so hard to
achieve?
Stacey Coverstone brings history to life with her newest release
THIRD TIME’S A CHARM. Sabra’s love for the
unconventional and willingness to buck tradition makes this
story utterly irresistible. Throw in a sexy Irishman who
stubbornly refuses to accept rejection and you’re in for a rip
roaring good time. It’s these characters imperfections that
make them so enjoyable to get to know – after all perfection is
so unrealistic you just have to have some flaws or you’d have to
hate them. I love how Ms. Coverstone incorporates the trouble
between the sheep farmers and the cattlemen into the storyline
and allows the reader to understand how this issue could lead to
many difficulties amongst settlers. If you’re wondering about
the tragedy that lead to Sabra’s fleeing Boston and if it ever
catches up to her, well, Colorado’s a large territory and it
would take some clever detective work to locate her but
nothing’s impossible. THIRD TIME’S A CHARM is a fast
paced, fun read full of laughable antics, memorable characters,
historical charm and one awesome horserace that will have your
heart pounding in exhilaration. This is a compelling story that
will easily have you searching Ms. Coverstone’s website in
search of other available titles and/or upcoming ones.
