Frustrated with not being able to find as many new Western Historical Romances as we wanted to read, Karyna and I created this site to hook up with others who love western romances. We wanted to provide a forum to trade information on good books to read and hopefully convince publishers that there are readers out there who love western romances so they will publish more of them.

I write both western historical romances and contemporary romances. I have two manuscripts awaiting publishers, Heart's Desire and In the Hands of a Texan, excerpts of which you can read on my web site: AnneCarrole.com.

I've been writing since I was in elementary school, but love and life prevented me from professionally pursuing my passion until recently. A devotee of Jane Austen and Anthony Trollope, and all things nineteenth century (you should see my house) as well as a western history buff, I became passionate about western romance when I picked up a copy of One Wish by Linda Lael Miller (still a favorite) and have been obsessed with them ever since.

Besides writing and reading western romances and working my day job, I love antiques, gardening, tennis, my husband and daughter, as well as our dog, Petey and our cat, Maxx. I'm a Jersey girl who was raised on a farm-yes they have them in New Jersey-with horses, dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits and whatever other animals we could convince our parents to shelter. With sisters who were western riders, I grew up loving everything western so, of course, I LOVE WESTERN ROMANCES and I'm glad you do too.

I've been reading and writing for as long as memory serves. I'll read just about any genre, and any time period. Though I have a penchant for the classics: Bronte, Dickinson, and Chopin particularly.

I can’t recall exactly when I started writing. It’s as if it was always a part of me. I just knew I had to give life to these characters that would take up residence in my head from time to time. The fact they now have an audience makes it twice as rewarding.

I was hooked on westerns after reading Johanna Lindsey's Brave the Wild Wind, in grammar school (I know, not necessarily appropriate reading material at that age). After that, I was on the hunt for more.  I read just about every author in the genre at the time (Lindsey, Linda Howard, Bertice Small, Victoria Bylin, Rosanne Bittner, and countless others).  As the years passed, it became more difficult to find new historical westerns, so I figured it was time to write my own. ;)

My two historical westerns (Dry Moon and Tempted Fate) were published this year. They are the beginning of a long line of wips, which also include contemporary suspense, contemporary romance, and erotica. You can find out more at my web site: www.karyna-online.com.
