In Dry Moon, Ms. DaRosa has given us a captivating story of a strong heroine holding her own against powerful forces, including a gun-for-hire who will eventually have to choose sides.

Through the death of her father, Cassie Taylor now owns the water rights and controls the supply of water in this dry Arizona territory.  Water is better than gold in the desert, and like gold, some think it’s worth killing for. Cassie is determined to defend what is hers while striving to be fair in doling out the scarce water to the other ranchers.  However, in the middle of a drought, there is bound to be a rancher who wants more than his share. When that rancher hires a gun man, Cassie knows there is a showdown coming.  What she doesn’t expect is her physical attraction to the cold-hearted gunslinger brought in to intimidate her.

Cole Mitchell has a code of honor, and it doesn’t include killing innocent women.  Though he’s been hired to protect his boss’ interests, he begins to suspect his boss of more than foul play. Upon meeting Cassie, Cole is surprised to find a vibrant, independent, and appealing woman, and he’s tempted to find out just how innocent she really is.  When his boss takes things into his own hands, Cole has to decide just who he is protecting—and why.  And Cassie has to decide who she can trust—with more than her life.

Ms. DaRosa has a crisp, clean writing style that keeps the reader turning the pages of this fast-paced adventure. Her characters, even the secondary ones, resonate, while the scenes between Cassie and Cole, as they confront each other and their growing feelings, sizzle right off the page.  Definitely a book you’ll read again and again for the excitement of the adventure and the pleasure of the romance..
