As part
of a three story anthology, Marriage at Morrow Creek, is a
delightful holiday tale.
Rose
Tillson is tired of being taken for granted by her father, her
sister, and most of all, by Will Gavigan who helps her father with
their traveling medicine show. When she meets a strange but sage
woman at the creek running through the town they’ve stopped in, she
decides to take the woman’s advice regarding how to get Will to
notice her.
At first,
Will can’t understand what has gotten into Rose to make her so
forward and so flirtatious. She’s always been so steady and
dependable and comfortable. While it throws him off balance, he kind
of likes this new Rose—maybe too much. After all, he’s a traveling
man and Rose seems to want to settle in this new town. But trying
to marry her off so he won’t be tempted may just backfire—it is
Halloween after all.
With
ghosts, black cats and all things Halloween in the mix, things are
bound to go a little topsy-turvy before it all comes right.
Lisa
Plumley has written a charming short story that mixes a little magic
with the romance. As part of a three story Halloween anthology,
Marriage at Morrow Creek is a western romance, Wedding at
Warehaven by Denise Lynn is a medieval romance and Master of
Penlowen by Christine Merrill is a Regency romance. Combined
they provide the reader with some treats—and a few tricks mixed in. |
