With a breathtaking setting
and admirable characters, Klondike Doctor is a story
definitely worth reading!
Dr. Elizabeth Langley hopes
that by heading north to the Klondike she will not only be able to
fulfill a promise made to a dying relative, but will also find
acceptance as a female doctor in a male-dominated profession.
However, in order to get there she must travel with her father’s
bodyguard, Mountie Sergeant Colt Hunter, and other Mounties as they
head to the Yukon Territory to round up criminals who are robbing
travelers headed north in search of gold.
Disguised as a group of
brothers, Colt and the other Mounties never counted on adding a
“sister” to the group. Despite his misgivings about taking Elizabeth
along, Colt took a vow to protect, and he knows that on this journey
through the wild and untamed land of the Yukon, the headstrong
Elizabeth will definitely need his protection.
As the group travels north,
Elizabeth begins to see Colt in a different light, but worries that
he does not respect her abilities as a physician. Colt soon realizes
his feelings for his new “sister” are anything but brotherly…but
will their professions and positions in society prevent them from
pursuing a relationship?
With its unique setting and
wonderful characters, Klondike Doctor is a highly entertaining
story. Dr. Elizabeth Langley is an admirable heroine who perseveres
despite the odds against her and the prejudice she faces being a
female in a predominantly male profession. The headstrong Elizabeth
is an excellent match for the dependable Mountie Sergeant. With his
protective instincts, good looks, and dedication, Colt is definitely
a hero any girl would be glad to call her own. The chemistry between
Elizabeth and Colt sizzles off the page making for an interesting
relationship and love story. The beautiful scenery, touching romance,
and fascinating secondary characters add to the book and help to
make it a keeper.
Klondike Doctor is a
promising start to Ms. Bridges’s new series. I look forward to
reading more and highly recommend this one!
