Rebecca Goings' On Eagle's
Wings, is a wonderful time-traveling western love story that
will have you glued to the pages. What happens when someone from the
future interferes with the events of the past?
To settle his gambling debts,
Shannon Phillips' father sells her to Prescott Belmont. Belmont is
an abusive, unscrupulous gambler Shannon has no intentions of
marrying. In a desperate attempt to flee, she hires a shifty and
equally untrustworthy guide, Otis, to take her to her grandfather's
cabin. But Otis has plans of his own. As he forces himself on her,
Shannon is spared his brutal assault by a handsome Cheyenne Indian
named Eagle's Wing.
A man of honor, Eagle couldn't
stand by and do nothing while an innocent woman was about to be
raped. He knew there was something extraordinary about Shannon when
he hoisted her onto his horse, and her body melded perfectly against
his. But, as a Time Tourist from the year 2166, Eagle knew the rules
too well: no interacting with the local populace as it can have
devastating effects on the time-line. Shannon was meant to get
pregnant as a result of the rape. By saving her, Eagle had
effectively wiped an entire family line. He must now correct this
error. But falling in love wasn't part of the plan. Can Eagle return
to his own time and leave Shannon to raise their child alone in the
Wyoming Territory. Can Shannon find it in her heart to let him
go?
Ms. Goings has penned a
delightful, page-turning tale filled with rich characters that
you'll be rooting for until the very end. The passion between Eagle
and Shannon sizzled off the pages. This one is a keeper. Kudos to
Ms. Goings for this great read!
