Pam Crooks’ Untamed Cowboy is everything a
great western should be, and so much more!
Penn McClure had almost captured the loathsome criminals operating a
countrywide counterfeiting ring, until his partner and lover
double-crossed him. Still, Penn succeeded in killing two of the
counterfeiters, though one got away. Out for vengeance, Penn vows
never to love another woman again. In pursuit of the fugitive
counterfeiter, Penn arrives at the ranch of Carina Lockett.
Carina is as tough as they come. Strong, smart, and
independent, she runs the C Bar C Ranch on her own. After her
daughter is kidnapped and held for ransom, Carina will do everything
in her power to raise the money she desperately needs. She decides
to put together a cattle drive, and hires Penn knowing she’s going
to need all the men she can get.
Tragedy and vengeance bring Carina and Penn to common
ground. The long trek affords Carina time alone with Penn, and
slowly she begins to rely on him more and more. Passions spark, and
love ensues, but danger and intrigue lurk in every corner.
Ms. Crooks writes a compelling, action-packed
story that’ll have you glued to every page. Penn and Carina are
strong, earthy, relatable characters I rooted for every step of the
way. The plot moved at a quick pace, making for an entertaining and
engaging read. If you’re already a fan of historical westerns, this
book will be sure to please. If you aren’t a fan, this book will
certainly make you one. I highly recommend Untamed Cowboy!
